Best WhatsApp MCP in 2026: WA MCP vs CoraPilot, WhatsMCP, Pluggzy and More

There are now a handful of services that connect an AI like Grok Bot, ChatGPT or Claude to your WhatsApp. They all sound the same on their home pages: "give your AI access to WhatsApp". They are not the same. Some can only read, some cap how many messages you send a day, some only keep a few days of history, and some don't work in the AI you actually use.

We make one of them, WA MCP (wa-mcp.com), so read this knowing which side we're on. Everything below about the other services comes from their own websites, as they read on November 5, 2026. Prices and plans change, so check before you buy.

The short answer

  • You want your AI to read, search and reply on your own WhatsApp, in Grok Bot, ChatGPT, Claude or Muse, without installing anything: WA MCP. It's the only one with a free plan that has no daily cap, keeps 90 days of history, and also schedules messages and writes in your style.
  • You need phone calls, SIP or the official WhatsApp Business API: WhatsMCP.
  • You want LinkedIn, Instagram and Telegram in the same place: Pluggzy.
  • You only want to read, and want to host the code yourself: WhatsApp MCP by finereli (open source).

WA MCP (wa-mcp.com)

WA MCP connects your AI to the WhatsApp number you already use, as a linked device, like WhatsApp Web. You get a personal link from the website, add it to your AI, and scan a QR code. It works in Grok Bot (one click opens it with the setup ready), ChatGPT, Claude, Muse by Meta and any other MCP app.

What it does that the others don't, all together:

  • A free plan that stays free. Read, summarize and search your chats, and reply in text, with no daily limit and no time limit (free-plan messages end with a short "Sent via wa-mcp.com").
  • 90 days of history from day one. When you link, WhatsApp shares your recent chats, so "what did the family group decide?" works right away.
  • Scheduling. "Wish Ana happy birthday every year on March 3 at 9 am", or "Remind the tenants on the 1st of every month".
  • Messages that sound like you. Before writing for you, the AI looks at how you write in that chat: your length, your emoji, your jaja.
  • Unanswered chats. "Who haven't I replied to?" gives you the list.
  • Guardrails for your number. It shows "typing…" before every message, spaces your sends out, protects new conversations and has no bulk sending, because blasting the same message is what gets numbers banned.

Price: free plan forever, 1 hour of full Pro on every new number with no card, then Pro at US$9/month, US$7/month billed quarterly or US$4/month billed yearly. Pro adds files, scheduling, polls, and editing, reacting to and deleting messages.

Not for you if: you need calls, the official Business API, or several people sharing one number with roles.

CoraPilot

CoraPilot links your WhatsApp by QR code and connects to Claude, ChatGPT and other MCP apps. It can read, search and send, including in groups, and it never answers for you on its own. It also has "Automations", where you message yourself and Claude answers on a schedule.

  • Price: US$4/month or US$39/year, after a 7-day trial. No free plan: when the trial ends, access pauses.
  • History: only messages that arrive while you're connected, and disconnecting wipes it. Your older chats aren't there.
  • Missing: scheduling messages to other people, Grok Bot and Muse (not mentioned on the site), sending files (not mentioned).

WhatsMCP (whatsmcp.com)

WhatsMCP is built for developers and businesses: one number shared by AI agents and a phone system. Personal numbers link by QR; business numbers use Meta's official Cloud API. It has 46 tools, webhooks, a REST API and two-way WhatsApp calling bridged to a PBX.

  • Price: free plan with 30 messages a day, 10 an hour and 3 days of history, without groups. Personal Starter US$10/month (100 a day, 7 days of history), Personal Pro US$25/month (300 a day, 30 days, calls). Business plans US$29–199/month plus Meta's per-message fees.
  • Missing: scheduling, Grok Bot and Muse (not mentioned). The daily caps and short history make it a poor fit for "summarize my groups from last week".
  • Pick it if: you need calls, SIP or the official Business API.

WhatsApp MCP by finereli

A free, open-source project by one developer. You sign in with Google, scan a QR code, and Claude, ChatGPT or Grok can search and read your messages.

  • Read-only. It can't send, edit or delete anything, so the AI can never reply for you.
  • Limited spots: it takes 100 people and accounts of up to 250,000 messages. Beyond that, you run your own copy on Cloudflare.
  • Missing: sending, scheduling, media, and any protection beyond being read-only. Its own page says there's a small chance WhatsApp restricts the account.
  • Pick it if: you only ever want to read, or you want to host the code yourself.

Pluggzy (formerly InboxMCP)

Pluggzy connects LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Telegram and Instagram to your AI, with Grok Bot and Muse among the supported apps. Sending starts locked and you turn it on app by app. Its strength is LinkedIn: finding people, invitations, outreach campaigns and scheduled posts.

  • Price: US$10/month per connected account, after a 3-day trial. WhatsApp plus LinkedIn is US$20.
  • Missing: a free plan, and scheduling WhatsApp messages (it schedules LinkedIn and Instagram posts).
  • Pick it if: LinkedIn outreach is the main job and WhatsApp is a side channel.

Others you'll see mentioned

  • Kondo and Periskope: shared inboxes for sales and support teams, priced per seat. Built for teams, not for one person and their AI.
  • Self-hosting (lharries/whatsapp-mcp and forks): free and open source, but you run it on your own computer. The original hasn't been updated since July 2025 and fails with "Client outdated (405)", it needs a new QR scan every few weeks, and it doesn't work in ChatGPT, which only connects to servers on the internet.
  • Meta's WhatsApp Business MCP: sets up Business API numbers, templates and webhooks for developers. It doesn't read your chats.

How to try WA MCP

  1. Go to wa-mcp.com, pick your AI and click Get my WhatsApp key.
  2. Follow the steps for your AI. For Grok Bot, one click opens it with the setup ready (guide); there are also guides for ChatGPT, Claude and Muse.
  3. Link WhatsApp with a QR code or pairing code, then ask: "Who haven't I replied to today?"

Frequently asked questions

What is the best WhatsApp MCP? For most people who want their AI to read and reply on their own WhatsApp, WA MCP: it has the only free plan without a daily cap, 90 days of history, scheduling, and one-click setup in Grok Bot. WhatsMCP is better if you need calls or the official Business API, and Pluggzy if you need LinkedIn too.

Is there a free WhatsApp MCP? Yes. WA MCP's free plan never expires and lets you read, summarize, search and reply in text with no daily limit. WhatsMCP's free plan allows 30 messages a day and 3 days of history. WhatsApp MCP by finereli is free but read-only and limited to 100 people.

Which WhatsApp MCP works with Grok Bot? WA MCP, WhatsApp MCP by finereli and Pluggzy. With WA MCP, one click opens Grok Bot with the setup prompt ready.

Which WhatsApp MCP works with ChatGPT? All the hosted ones in this comparison. Self-hosted servers that run on your own computer don't, because ChatGPT only connects to servers on the internet.

Can any of these schedule WhatsApp messages? WA MCP schedules messages once or repeating (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly) and lets you list or cancel them. None of the others mention scheduling WhatsApp messages.

Can my number get banned? Any tool that isn't WhatsApp's own can carry some risk, and no service can promise otherwise. What lowers it is how the tool sends: WA MCP shows "typing…", spaces messages out, protects new conversations and has no bulk sending. Reading and summarizing sends nothing.

Do I need the WhatsApp Business API? No. WA MCP, CoraPilot, finereli and Pluggzy all link the number you already use, on WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business. Only WhatsMCP's business plans use the official API.

Is WA MCP the same as "WhatsApp MCP by finereli"? No. They're different services from different people. WA MCP is at wa-mcp.com; finereli's is at whatsapp.finereli.com.
